The best masjid siren today is an electronic siren that plays through the amplifier and minar horns your masjid already has. It needs no motor, no wiring on the minar and almost no electricity, and it can be installed by anyone on the committee in minutes. This guide walks you through the choice step by step, so your masjid ka siren is ready long before the first Sehri.
Why a masjid siren matters in Ramadan
In many parts of India, the masjid siren is how a whole neighbourhood knows that Sehri has ended and that it is time for Iftar. It reaches people who are cooking, sleeping or driving, and it reaches them all at once. That is why committees treat it as essential equipment, and why a siren that fails on the 1st Roza causes so much trouble.
Step 1: Motor siren or electronic siren?
There are two kinds of masjid siren in use today.
Motor siren
A heavy electric motor spins a rotor that chops air into a loud wail. It is installed outside, usually on the terrace or the minar. A 3 HP unit draws roughly 2,200 watts, needs wiring up to the roof and needs servicing before every Ramadan.
Electronic siren
A small microprocessor-controlled box generates the siren tone and feeds it into the masjid amplifier. The ABR e-Siren draws under 5 watts (5V DC, 300 mA to 1 A), sits indoors next to the amplifier and has no moving parts. Read how an electronic siren works for the details.
Step 2: Check what you already have
Before buying anything, look at your masjid’s sound system:
- Amplifier: almost every masjid has one for the azan. Check that it has a free MIC or AUX input.
- Horn speakers: the horns on your minar decide how far any sound travels. If your azan is heard clearly in your mohalla, a siren played through them will be too.
- Inverter or UPS: note what it can carry. Sehri is exactly when power cuts tend to happen.
If you have these three, you do not need a new speaker or a new amplifier. You only need the siren unit.
Step 3: Compare what really matters
| Question | Motor siren | ABR e-Siren |
|---|---|---|
| Who installs it? | Technician and electrician | Anyone: two cables |
| Does someone climb the minar every year? | Yes | No, it stays indoors |
| Power draw | About 2,200 W | Under 5 W |
| Works on inverter? | Usually not | Yes |
| Vibration | Shakes the structure | 0% |
| Size and weight | Large, heavy machine | 10 × 12 × 5 cm, 300 g |
Step 4: Warranty, service and the genuine product
A masjid siren has to work on 30 specific days a year, and it has to work at 4 a.m. Ask any seller three questions: what is the warranty, where is the service centre, and who answers the phone in Ramadan?
The ABR e-Siren carries a lifetime* replacement warranty: any manufacturing fault in the first two Ramadan seasons is replaced free, and after that the unit is still replaced for life at a small charge. The service centre is in Hyderabad and support is a call away on 8500536007. Full terms are on our warranty page.
The e-Siren was the first electronic siren made exclusively for masaajid. To get the original and its warranty, order from e-siren.com or call us directly.

An electronic siren that plays through the masjid's existing amplifier and minar horns is the simplest choice: no motor, no wiring on the minar, under 5 W of power and no yearly maintenance. The ABR e-Siren was designed only for masaajid.
Masjid ka siren kitni bijli leta hai?
Motor siren (3 HP) lagbhag 2,200 watt leta hai. ABR e-Siren sirf 5V DC, 300 mA se 1 Amp, yaani 5 watt se kam leta hai, mobile charger se bhi kam.
Can the masjid siren work during a power cut?
Yes, if it is electronic. The ABR e-Siren draws under 5 W, so it runs on the masjid inverter or UPS together with the amplifier.
Does a masjid siren need a technician to install?
Not the ABR e-Siren. Connect the audio cable to the amplifier and the power cable to a socket. No electrician and no wiring on the minar.
